In the English lesson plans, I believe it's at the beginning of the first quarter, you'll find instructions on how to write an outline. It's pretty simple though. If your writing an outline just for your own reference, I don't think you have to do it any specific way (correct me if I'm wrong!), but it helps to do it in an organized way.
No, you don't write Roman numerals for each paragraph in the composition, but usually you do in the outline. Here would be an example of an outline for a 5 paragraph composition:
I. Introductory Paragraph
A. Group 1. Topic sentence-main idea:
1. Examples
2. Examples
3. Examples
B. Group 2. Topic sentence-main idea:
1. Examples
2. Examples
3. Examples
II. Concluding Paragraph
Of course, this is just four paragraphs, you have to do five. Just add another group to your outline. Seton may tell you to do your outline a bit differently than this one. They all have to same idea, and do the same thing for you though. Hope this helps! You can PM me if you need more help.
