Seton has an example of an interpretive essay that they can give you, but it's not on the Screwtape letters, which is good so that you have to write your own paper yourself, but you still get the idea.

I had a question...are quotes needed for the interpretive essay? Is it incomplete without them? I have a nice long paper without quotes...should I try and find some and add them in? Or is it ok without them?

Um..don't think you HAVE to have a quote in your essay as long as you proved your point well. In my Screwtape Letter Essay I had a quote in every middle paragraph which helped me give an example and prove my point. :D

I don't think it's required to use quotes, but you are allowed to as long as it states or proves a point. :| And whenever you use a quote you have to explain what it means or the point it makes. I'm still working on my Interpretive Essay, and so far I didn't use any quotes, so... :?

It's been a year since I did interpretive essays, so I can't say off the top of my head if quotes are required, but I know for a fact that Seton likes when you use quotes. However, with interpretive essays when you quote, make sure to explain the quote!! :)
