The Beginner’s Guide to Seton

This guide is designed to walk you through the important topics of why homeschooling is important, looking at the questions of socialization, academic success, and faith formation. Then we will move on to the nuts and bolts of how Seton works, how much time you should expect to spend each day, and the role of the lesson plans. Finally, we will explore the Admissions process, how to fill out an online enrollment, and how to customize your courses. At the end of the journey, you will receive a discount code for $30 to offset your new family fee.

Draper Warren, Director of Admissions

Welcome!

My mother decided to pull me out of a nice Catholic school when I was in 5th Grade. It didn’t take long for me to experience a radical transformation from a reluctant B-student to an avid learner and overachiever. Looking back, I also credit my Seton education for helping me hold onto the Faith. Being skeptical by nature, I have no doubt my little seed of faith would have been blown away without the deep intellectual roots that Seton provided me. I have been working at Seton now for 20 years, and am passionate about helping parents to share the Catholic Faith with their children and to prepare them to thrive intellectually in the modern world. I have prepared this guide to help give you the motivation and knowledge you need.

Our Seton Video

An unparalleled glimpse into the homes of Seton families

A few years ago, a Seton alumnus named Eric Coughlin approached us to create a video to capture the essence of the Seton experience. Eric travelled all across the country. He went to Rhode Island, Virginia, Illinois, Kansas, Texas, California, and even to the Vatican to film this video. If you want to learn more about Seton, there is no better way than to watch this short video. Pay special attention to the scenes of the families actually doing their school work so that you can get an idea of what homeschooling might look like in your home.
