Seton Graduation 2022June 18, 2022
Seton will hold a graduation ceremony on June 18, 2022, at Warren County High School in Front Royal, Virginia.
In order to be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony, 2022 graduating students must:
- be 12th grade Seton Home Study School students
- be taking sufficient courses in 12th grade to meet graduation requirements
- have at least three-fourths of quarter grades by the graduation date
- have completed, or expect to complete, high school work in the 2022 calendar year (** see below for information about students who completed their studies in late 2020 or in 2021 **)
- be current on any tuition or fees owed to Seton
- register and pay the graduation fee by May 15th, 2022
2022 graduates ARE NOT REQUIRED to have completed all courses by the graduation date. Students who have not completed sufficient credits to graduate will receive a blank diploma at the ceremony. A signed diploma will be mailed to the student when studies are completed. Students must complete three-fourths of their work, but this does not mean three quarters of work in all subjects. For example, a student taking four courses would satisfy the requirement by having final grades in three courses but no grades yet in the other course.
In addition to 2022 graduates, students who completed their diploma requirements on or after July 1, 2020, and have not already attended a Seton graduation ceremony, are eligible to attend.
If you are unsure as to your credits or courses, please contact our high school guidance counselor John Thorp, either at 540-636-2238 or email@example.com.
Costs and Attendance
The base graduation fee is $120, which covers the cost of the graduate plus four guests. To keep the base fee low, and to try to be as fair to everyone as possible, we have instituted a $15 per-guest fee for more than four guests. Children under 6 years of age are free.
We must restrict the maximum attendees per graduate to the graduate plus 10 guests. The only exception to this maximum will be immediate family members (graduate’s parents and brothers and sisters). Extra guests may be allowed if space (and any applicable state regulation) permits.
Families who register for the graduation will be contacted with further information.
If you register and then find you cannot attend for any reason, a full refund of any fees paid will be available until the day of graduation.
Note regarding the schedule: In past years we have included many social events along with the graduation, such as a dance on Saturday evening. Because we do not know the regulations which will be in place later this year, we cannot guarantee what events (besides the graduation itself) will be held. We hope to hold a Friday afternoon family picnic, a Friday evening event (such as roller skating), a post-graduation reception, and a dance on Saturday evening. However, this is dependent on the regulations pertaining to gatherings in Virginia in July.
The Value of Your Enrollment
Your enrollment provides you with much more than just a box of books. It provides an accredited education, a strong support system, and a community of staff and homeschoolers who are in your corner. It provides access to academic and support counseling, grading and record keeping, and a solid Catholic curriculum that promotes strong Catholic values in each and every subject.
