Seton Graduation 2024

June 22, 2024

Seton will hold a graduation ceremony on June 22, 2024, at Warren County High School in Front Royal, Virginia. In conjunction with the physical graduation ceremony, we will also hold a Virtual Graduation.

In order to be eligible to participate in either the in-person or the virtual graduation ceremony, 2024 graduating students must:

  • be a 12th grade Seton Home Study School student
  • be taking sufficient courses in 12th grade to meet graduation requirements
  • have earned at least 15 high school credits (any combination of Seton credits, transfer credits, and independent study)
  • have completed, or expect to complete, high school work in the 2024 calendar year; or have completed their high school work on or after June 15, 2023
  • be current on any tuition or fees owed to Seton
  • register and pay the graduation fee (if applicable) by May 15th, 2024

Registration links for both the in-person and the virtual graduation can be found below.

Eligibility

2024 graduates ARE NOT REQUIRED to have completed all courses by the graduation date. Students who have not completed sufficient credits to graduate will receive a participation certificate at the ceremony. A signed diploma will be mailed to the student when studies are completed. In order to register for the graduation, a student must have at least 15 high school credits, from any combination of Seton course credits, transfer credits, and independent study credits. Registrations will not be accepted from students who have fewer than 15 credits. Since the registration deadline is May 15th, students who are a credit or two short of 15 credits should have time to finish up some courses and therefore qualify in time.

In addition to 2024 graduates, students who completed their diploma requirements on or after June 15, 2023 are eligible to attend.

If you are unsure as to your credits or courses, you can go to your MySeton page www.setonhome.org/myseton then choose the Courses tab and then click on the “View cumulative high school grade report” icon. If you have further questions on courses or credits please contact Bob Wiesner at 540-622-8478 or BWiesner@setonhome.org.

Costs and Attendance for the In-Person Graduation

The base graduation fee is $160, which includes the graduate plus four guests. To keep the base fee low, and to try to be as fair to everyone as possible, we have instituted a $25 per-guest fee for more than four guests. Children under 6 years of age are free.

We must restrict the maximum attendees per graduate to the graduate plus 10 guests. The only exception to this maximum will be immediate family members (graduate’s parents and brothers and sisters). Extra guests may be allowed if space permits.

Families who register for the graduation will be contacted with further information.

If you register and then find you cannot attend for any reason, a full refund of any fees paid will be available until June 1st.

To register for the in-person graduation, please return the 2024 graduation form, or register online at: https://www.setonhome.org/grad2024/register.php

More complete information, including the schedule for the day, available here: https://www.setonhome.org/student-life/2024-seton-graduation-event-details-2/

Virtual Graduation

For those who cannot attend the in-person graduation in Virginia, we will announce the names and show a photo of each virtual graduate as part of the livestream of the event. There is no fee for participating in the virtual graduation, but the requirements for participation (deadline, credits, etc.) are otherwise the same as for the in-person graduation.

To participate in the virtual graduation, please register online at: https://www.setonhome.org/student-life/virtual-graduation-application-2024/

Remember, the deadline for both the in-person and virtual graduation is May 15, 2024.

Testimonials

I like actually being there rather than just receiving your diploma in the mail, like some of my friends. It just seems more personal being at the graduation.
Being all together, and graduating together, and celebrating how far we have come was really amazing. It made you feel like you were part of something important.
The Seton Prom has been a lot of fun—meeting a lot of kids and learning a lot of different types of dance. My family’s having a blast.
Now, having graduated from Seton, I feel confident and knowledgeable enough about my Catholic faith to be able to persevere in all of my future endeavors.
My favorite thing about graduation was finally getting to meet in person all of the wonderful people I knew from Seton’s online forums. The friendships that I have made through Seton have been unforgettable!
